This is my friend
Mike's N-scale LVRR Alco PA
whats that behind
it?
Oh! its my old, ancient,
beat up Athearn HO scale Alco PA.
(its motor melted
at the Sayre museum way back in 1985..I cut out the stripe decals myself!
(it shows! ;)
but wait...whats behind
THAT?!
Its my new USA trains
1/29 scale Alco PAs!! :) woo hoo!!
So how big are these
engines anyway?
Here is N scale.
HO scale.
Large scale! :)
Also called "G scale"
(although technically the term "G scale" is incorrect for 1/29 scale trains)
but they do run on
45mm "G scale" track..
each engine is 27"
long, and the 2 A units together are 4.5 feet!
they require a minimum
track diameter of 8'..although that is very tight for them.
12' diameter should
really be considered the minimum..
bigger pictures!
more pictures to follow!
im goinf to paint and letter an entire LV passenger train to go along
with these units.
So far I only have 2 Aristo heavyweights..planning on a 5-car train
eventually.
